Probe Scientific Ltd, an emerging UK medical device developer, today announced that it had signed a development agreement with BVT Technologies of Brno

Probe Scientific Ltd, an emerging UK medical device developer, today announced that it had signed a development agreement with BVT Technologies of Brno in the Czech Republic for the design and manufacture of complete glucose and lactate monitoring systems based around Probe’s patented MicroEye® continuous sample collection platform technology. BVT will also facilitate the clinical validation of the systems.

Probe will then use the resulting complete continuous glucose monitoring systems to grow a base of clinical experience in Europe with the aim of securing major commercial partnerships. The lactate systems will be used for a number of clinical and sports related projects.

“This work will result in us being able, firstly to widen the distributor and licensee base for our glucose systems and secondly, to develop new applications including continuous free drug level monitoring” said Dr Mark O’Connell Technical Director.

Development studies are expected to be complete by early 2014. Financial details were not disclosed.
