Drug Discovery Today, we are always
listening to readers and authors to improve
the quality and service that we can provide
for the drug discovery professional. Over
the past few years we have introduced changes
that we think have delivered such a service.
In 2005 we incorporated Drug Discovery
Today: BIOSILICO and Drug Discovery
Today: TARGETS into the journal to provide
a supersize, one-shop-stop for the most cutting-edge
science related to drug discovery. In 2006
we published monthly double issues of Drug
Discovery Today in response to readers’
comments. Also in that year, as a service
to authors, we were able to offer articles
in press, whereby articles are available electronically
up to six weeks ahead of print. These improvements
in service have also been accompanied by increases
in value and quality, as judged by a year-on-year
improvement in downloads and the Impact Factor
of the journal. In 2002 the Impact Factor
of the journal was 4.0, rising to 4.9 in 2003,
6.9 in 2004 and 7.8 in 2005.
In 2007, we are introducing changes to Drug
Discovery Today that we feel will be
the most exciting of all. From January 2007,
Drug Discovery Today will be available
as a digital edition. There are many benefits
that this format will afford to readers and
authors alike.
For Readers:
Drug Discovery Today will
be delivered directly to your desktop
You will be able to browse
the entire magazine
The format will allow the
use of videos, animations and sound to enhance
the quality and value of the articles
You can download the whole
issue to read offline, or print individual
articles
Adverts will be live –
you can link directly to the websites of companies
of interest
For Authors:
Your articles will be much more widely
distributed, which will enhance its impact
We can use a much wider
range of tools to illustrate and enhance your
article
Your videos and animations
will run in real time – no need to leave
the site to view
