The Enabling Future Pharma Conference: The New Role of the NIH, Academic and Patient-Based Organisation in the Drug Discovery towards Rare and Neglected Diseases

09 July 2014 - 12 July 2014

Resurgence of the pharmaceutical industry to its preeminence can only be realized through Collaborative Innovation in Biomedicine. Given the complexities and the expense of pharmaceutical R&D, we can accomplish much more, in a shorter time and with less cost and duplication of effort, when the private and public sectors bring their special strengths to bear. These are challenging times, but they also offer unprecedented opportunities to form complementary and synergistic partnerships and collaborative research enterprises with an overarching goal of advancing drug discovery breakthroughs and bridge the translational gap. The overarching theme of this unique and high profile conference is to address the role of non-profits, including patient-based organizations, as catalysts in meeting the needs of patients and caregivers, and in the discovery and development of new drugs and biologics against rare and neglected diseases

It will endeavour to look at the assessment of early risks in immunogenicity and the evaluation of in silico tools for determining immunogenicity. With an insight into the safety, development and validation of Monoclonal Antibodies. Further to this, the main interest emerging is the tissue quality and preservation in which the therapeutics are being put into. The conference will evaluate what happens to them in vivo along with a regulatory perspective.
