European Artificial Intelligence Summit
05 March 2018 - 06 March 2018
The implementation, data privacy, and operational challenges facing life science and healthcare professionals dedicated to integrating AI into their organization vastly differ by therapeutic area and patient population, size of the organization, and the number of resources available to them. Cookie-cutter solutions cannot address the unique challenges faced by a company. It is critical that the education available to these professionals meets the varying needs of the industry.
As such, ExL Events has expanded its Artificial Intelligence conference series to now introduce the European Artificial Intelligence Innovation Summit. Through keynotes, panel discussions, and case studies, the executive speaking faculty provides key insights into the ethical standards of AI; explores the realistic steps to achieve successful AI execution; defines the regulatory boundaries and limitations; reviews the necessary metrics to measure the success and efficacy of the AI system; and examines case studies on industry vertical use.

12th Annual Paediatric Clinical Trials
19 March 2018 - 20 March 2018
Clinical trials in paediatric populations still pose several challenges and often many studies remain un- published*. 10 years on from the introduction of EU Paediatric Investigation Plans (PIPs) there are still many lessons to be learned about the planning and execution of trials which should be tailored around the needs of children.
Recent advancements in immuno- oncology research has led to an increase in clinical trials to treat cancer in children and adolescents. Greater emphasis has also been placed on pain-free administration of drugs in the bid to increase vaccination uptake and access to medicines.
Join us as we discuss current clinical trials and the innovative digital technology being used to improve clinical recruitment and retention as well as improve the quality of data being collected. leading industry experts will be looking at how to work within regulations and foster the involvement of young people in their care. We will also be looking at the planning and executing a paediatric clinical trial and the ways this can vary according to region. We will be exploring the complexities of paediatric drug formulation and helping you determine clinical endpoints.

Drug Discovery
21 March 2018 - 22 March 2018
SMi Group is proud to announce the return of Drug Discovery in 2018. The successful conference will return for its 2nd year on the 21st and 22nd March.
The pharmaceutical industry is constantly battling the same issue when trying to discover drugs; the process is timely, expensive and usually unsuccessful. Pharma companies are trying to speed up the procedure to make it more accurate and minimise drug leads which are likely to fail further on in the drug development process. Consequently, the event will focus on key developments in this very industry.
SMi’s 2nd annual Drug Discovery conference provides an unprecedented opportunity to gain insight into the use of Artificial Intelligence in silico drug discovery, CRISPR and PROTAC’s, as well as discussing advancements in medicinal chemistry, translational medicine and 3D structure based-discovery.
With huge interest from leaders in the field, we have worked closely with an expert panel of speakers to present an agenda that is shaping up to be the best Drug Discovery yet. This year’s event will continue to lead with its unrivalled panel of experts bringing you the most insightful presentations from our confirmed Industry-leading speakers:

Drug Discovery for Rare Diseases
28 March 2018
Rare diseases, or diseases that affect only a small percentage of the population, have been growing in significance and prominence in recent years. According to the National Institutes of Health, there are nearly 7000 rare diseases and more than 25 million Americans who are affected. Approximately 80% of these rare diseases are genetic in origin. Cambridge Healthtech Institute's symposium on Drug Discovery for Rare Diseases will bring together leading scientists, clinicians, executives and experts who are deeply involved in bringing to market the treatments for such rare disorders. This symposium will bring to light some of the new drug targets, and peptide and oligonucleotide-based drug modalities that are being pursued. This unique one-day event will bring together people from diverse backgrounds to tackle translational challenges and to discuss potential opportunities in this field. The goal is to help attendees and sponsors meet scientific and technical experts who are involved in rare disease research to exchange ideas and set up collaborations.
